Sad Day

The following news is not something we've shared with many people.  But since this is really the only place that I "journal" I feel the need to write my thoughts here.

Last month I took a pregnancy test and it was positive.  Last Friday I had my first prenatal appointment.  During the appointment they did a viability ultrasound because of my history of a previous miscarriage.  The ultrasound showed the sac still intact but everything surrounding it coming apart.  There was no heartbeat present.  I was suppose to be between 8-9 weeks.  The baby measured 6 weeks.  I have a follow up appointment next Tuesday.  Many tears have been shed for this beautiful baby.  I think having my Cece at home has helped me to deal (or not deal) with the grief of losing this baby.  At least it is different from last time. I get to come home to my sweet girl. Though I will never get to hold my first baby and this baby, they will always be loved and I hope someday I'll get to meet them.

UPDATE:
I had my follow up doctor's appointment on March 6th. There was still no heart beat and the ultrasound looked similar to the last one.  I no longer felt pregnant and would sometimes forget I still was. After talking with my doctor and a few family and friends, I decided to have another D & C. That was on March 9th.  It was a tough decision. On one hand I wanted a natural miscarriage or one assisted by the tablets because it wasn't surgery, was more natural, and it wasn't a medical emergency. On the other hand, the waiting for a natural miscarriage made it hard to move on and grieve. I didn't want to wait 3+ months for my body to figure things out, if it did at all. And if I took the tablets I would have to do it on a weekend when Trevor would be home to care of me and the baby and I didn't want to spend the little time we have all together as a family with me curled up in our bed crying.  The thought of experiencing the physical and emotional pain would make be burst into tears. My little girl wouldn't understand why Mommy was so upset and in so much pain.
In the end, I decided on the D & C. Trevor was traveling home that day from a work trip. I thought I would be fine without him there since I've had one in the past and I work in a surgery center and knew what would happen. But it was much harder to be without him there than I thought. The nurses and doctors took such great care of me, as well as my family when I got home.
I've told Cece about this little baby, even though I'm not sure how much she understands. I still cry every now and then, but I feel like I am healing both physically and emotionally.
The doctor has recommended that we wait at least 6 months to try again in order to give my body time to heal from both pregnancies and to emotionally heal.

Nursery Update

Last weekend Mom and Dad Cajas were up visiting helping us get things together before baby arrives. We got a lot of stuff done yay! Including the nursery. The decorations are up. The closet isn't quite finished yet but it's getting there.

Unfortunately the stickers don't stick well on our textured walls. I took a picture before we took them down.

We're planning on adding one more piece of art above the bookshelf.

Maternity Photos

A few weekends ago when Mom and Dad Boone were visiting we took a few maternity photos. Trevor didn't want to take maternity photos so we compromised and took some funny maternity photos.

Peel of Orange, Berries blue,
A little flavor, a pinkish hue.
To celebrate Baby Cecelia
Arriving soon to join our familia.

New Phones, Monthly Baby Photos, Shower Remodel

It's been quite the eventful few weeks. Here's what we were up to 3 weeks ago:

DROID INCREDIBLE by HTC
Trevor went down to Phoenix on February 26th for our friends Callie and Bart's welcome baby party. He took the Friday before off so we could spend some time together and get some things done before he went down to Phoenix for the weekend. Our new phones arrived the day before (Thursday), so we fiddled with those. We love our new phones! We got the HTC Incredible. The best feature about our new phones is the Google calendar feature. Gone are the days of reminding Trevor of upcoming appointments/classes/birthdays. They are automatically sent to his phone via my Google calendar! Yay! I'm very excited to use the Baby ESP app once the baby arrives. Hopefully it'll be as useful as it sounds.

We also ran some errands around town. We went to the grand opening sale at JoAnn's. I got a yard of 7 different fabrics for around $30. Not too bad. They were all on sale and I had a coupon for an extra 20% off all sale/clearance items! I want to use the fabric for monthly baby shots. I'm hoping the pictures will look something like these: Making it Lovely, Young House Love, and Fresh Mommy Blog. I really like the idea of having something constant like a chair or a stuffed animal to compare the baby's growth over time. I just haven't figured out what yet. She has a Vulli Sophie Giraffe that I'm thinking of using but I'm not sure if it is big enough.

On the Saturday before Trevor left for the Welcome Baby party, we went to H&R Block to do our taxes. We spent 3 hours but were very successful! We received a nice refund that's going straight into the bathroom remodel. This past Friday (March 11), we actually meet with a ReBath representative and started on our shower remodel. Yay! It won't be done before Baby arrives, but it'll be before I return to work.

Nursery Update

On Sunday, we finished arranging the nursery and bookshelf and started arranging the closet. Here are some pictures of the room.

We got the cute snow globe, piggy bank, lamp and come of the books from our baby shower. Thanks everyone! The bookshelf looks great!

We have this switch plate in our music room too. Love it!

Still a work in progress.

Haha! We put the kitty in the crib. Hehe. It was so cute.

She couldn't figure out how to get out.

I don't think we'll have a problem with her getting into the crib. I don't think she likes it.
